How to find your cabinet and exchange

How to use the fttx.gr map to find the VDSL street cabinet and telephone exchange that serve your address, and what to do if they are missing.

Updated

Search your address

Type your address into the map search, or tap your home. The answer card shows your area’s telephone exchange, the nearest cabinets with their straight-line distance, and whether the building has fibre according to the ΧΕΜΔ registry.

The nearest is not always yours

Your line goes to the cabinet your ISP assigned it to, not necessarily the closest one. Cables follow streets and ducts, so their route is longer than the straight line on the map. A few ways to check:

  • Your line’s attenuation gives a rough distance. See copper line basics.
  • The cabinet number is usually written on its door. Compare it with the cabinets near you.
  • Your ISP can tell you your line’s cabinet or exchange if you ask.

The cabinet page

Every cabinet has its own page with provider, technology, exchange, photo and nearby cabinets. On copper cabinets you can share your line stats and see what your neighbours get.

If it is missing

If your cabinet is not on the map, add it with a photo. Every submission is reviewed before it goes live.
